Veterinarian
Dr. Marissa Robertson grew up down the street from Newport Harbor Animal Hospital and had the pleasure of bringing her many pets here while she was growing up. At the age of 17, she started shadowing some of the doctors and quickly fell in love with veterinary medicine. From that day on she knew she wanted to become a veterinarian.
She applied for a job and was hired and trained as a kennel attendant, receptionist, and veterinary assistant. She continued to work summers at Newport Harbor Animal Hospital while she attended Cal Poly San Luis Obispo where she graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Pre-Vet Animal Science. She then went on to attend Western University of Health Sciences where she earned her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine.
Dr. Robertson is was very excited to be returning to Newport Harbor Animal Hospital in 2023 as an associate veterinarian. She said "It feels like coming home!"
When she is not at work, she enjoys taking her dogs for walks in new places, checking out local coffee shops, and trying new creative hobbies. She looks forward to meeting you and your pets!
